Pinewood Demolition Derby, December 13, 2007

Scouts were given a kit containing a pinewood derby car kit, some straws, some duct tape, and a piece of aluminum foil. Using only these items and glue, they had to construct a car that would protect an egg when launched from a track. Eggs had to be inserted at the troop meeting.
The first run was just down the slope into a wall. For each additional run, a “slingshot” launcher was used, making each crash harder until we had a winner.
Some did not get off the track successfully, and some did very well.
